Alaa and Bushra have a 6 year old son, Sari, and are currently expecting a baby in June. After experiencing several miscarriages in a handful of years, dear Bushra is overjoyed for her growing baby and also deeply concerned with staying fed and properly cared for. Aside from living through genocide and famine, Bushra's pregnancy is high risk and requires twice daily injections and medications to keep her and the baby safe.

In Alaa's own words:

"Hello, I am Alaa from Gaza, 29 years old. I have a 6 year old child. My wife is pregnant and her pregnancy is very dangerous. She uses many medications and stabilizers on a daily basis and regularly. These medications include Heparin injections, Vitamin E, baby aspirin, and Fluke Assad. We are in dire need of you to stand by us and help us. To provide the necessary medicine for my wife."

I’ve been participating in a few small, independent online communities working to coordinate fundraising for aid to individuals in Palestine. Alaa has been a special case, as I have gotten the chance to get to know him, through texts, images, and videos. He communicates directly with a dependable group to help spread his ask for support. He is kind-hearted and generous.

Ricki Dugan is someone I have communicated with and trust, and they have put together this campaign linked above. If you have the capacity to assist, please consider donating to a Palestinian family in need, directly. Their situation grows more dire daily.
