The body of work is a series of tiles of varying surface treatment but identical in size. They challenge variations in beauty and material technique.
I combat the feminine body, both literally in genitalia and conceptually in relating within society. Each tile follows the same template but grows individually with layers of glazes embellishing the surface.
My goal is to represent not only sides of myself as a mosaic of different perspectives and lessons, but the close friends and family that have influenced me so heavily.
They are a dialogue in my own language to the surrounding identities in my life, about how they have affected me.
Each piece works together like water droplets in a waterfall: separating themselves as individuals within in a single direction.
I work with my own loud and active femininity and beauty in a way that engages an audience with apprehension and curiosity.
