Please consider donating to support my friend and her cat Nutmeg, I am trying to raise money to help my friend who has been struggling these past few months.

I want to respect her privacy so we'll call her G.

G lives in an apartment alone in the city with her sweet ginger cat Nutmeg (pictured above). She is a senior citizen with no ability to make an income. Lately, she has been suffering from the deterioration of her cornea in her left eye and has been denied financial help from multiple places. G has no children, spouse, or living family, save for one chronically-ill cousin who lives outside the country.

She is a beautifully impressive person, with a passion for the arts and politics. She has protested against wars and violence in DC and rallied for the passing of Roe vs. Wade in her youth, putting her beliefs and future generations before herself. She spends her time, with great physical strain, making her way to museums to get her "art fix" whenever she can. It's been coming so much harder for her to have access to the things she loves about the world and herself. She has been abandoned by the medical system that told her they would help, except for a bill for her treatment. G has been a pillar of her community her whole life and dear, dear friend of mine for 4 years. The covid years have isolated her and killed off her friends, she mourns the time she has spent in her old age being so dismissed and mishandled during the shutdown. The ageism she battles just to get seen by doctors, let alone get treatment, is heartbreaking.

The money raised will go into paying for her medicine and towards the care of her dear companion Nutmeg the cat. Nutmeg is a young ginger cat who requires special food to help with a blood sugar issue he has. He is sweet and lovable, mild-mannered and mostly enjoys long naps and lap-sitting with G. Nutmeg is the perfect support system for G and she is afraid of not being able to afford his care.

I am setting up this account in the name of my friend while trying hard to respect her privacy and not make her feel embarrassed about asking for help. She does not have social media and is nervous about technology, so I am trying to support her in any way I can.

Please share and/or donate whatever you can. You would be supporting an amazing woman who has been and continues to be a valued member of our country and a sweet beautiful kitty who wants to stay in G's arms. Thank you for reading
